Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Shine Program
As part of our wellbeing program selected students from Year 8 and 9 get the opportunity to participate in the Shine on the Inside program, developed by Shine From Within, an organisation supporting teens to navigate adolescence with confidence and joy.
Each lesson contains practical tips and activities and provides opportunities for discussion, group work and personal reflection in a supportive and inclusive environment.
RAISE Mentoring
Life has many periods of transition and few are as challenging as the early teenage years.
Raise youth mentoring is an early intervention strategy designed specifically for teens aged 13-16 to help them survive and thrive during these critical years.
Raise youth mentoring programs are evidence based and rigorously evaluated so we know that they truly change lives by equipping young people with the tools they need to navigate adolescence and have hope for the future.
Top Blokes Program
Led by qualified Youth Workers and running over two terms, this program focuses on building the skills necessary for young males to navigate the teenage experience.
Evidence-based, the program is designed to hold space for 14-17 year olds to talk about everything from relationships to alcohol and drugs, leadership to resilience, self-awareness to drugs, mental health to pornography, healthy decision making, embracing diversity and online behaviours.
R.I.O.T
The Resilience In Our Teens (RIOT), a whole-school program takes a wrap around approach to help teenagers learn skills to manage anxiety and build resilience by engaging the significant adults in their life in training.
Helping schools connect with their communities to ensure there is a whole-of-school cultural change to addressing anxiety, improving school attendance and improving student engagement and performance.

The Wellbeing Framework for Schools helps schools support the cognitive, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development of students and allows them to connect, succeed and thrive throughout their education.
